“Hi all.

“So last night was a great experience, being manager of Gornal Athletic Ladies F.C with these amazing ladies at Bescot stadium in the Birmingham Vase. If I was told when I became manager at the start of last season that in your second season you will be taking the team to play at Bescot you'd be like, yeah ok. But I have to say I'm so proud, this team are fantastic and everyone played their part.

“Walsall FC Women are tier 6 and well established finishing 3rd last season. We know this is the next stage for Gornal ladies in where we want to be. We did our best and couldn't fault our effort. 4-0 loss but a couple of these came from a few mistakes, but even the top league professionals make mistakes, it's part of football. What I liked is that we never gave up, we were on top for the first 15 mins until Walsall got their break and then got 2 more before half time, we changed it at half time as we had nothing to lose, 2nd half I thought we were much better and had chances but we just could not get the goal.

“But we take the experience playing on a quality pitch in a stadium, and also in front of the biggest crowd we have ever had of 741.

“Thank you to all those who came to support me and the ladies, my family friends and the players/coaching staff family and friends. We wish Walsall who are one of the favorites for this competition all the best in the next round and in the league as they push for promotion this season.

“See you all at the next home game a week Sunday.”
