“Hi all.
“So the game today (Sunday) at home for the first time this season in the league saw us take on Lye Town Woman. This was a tough test for us as they are a good side who I'm sure will be up in the mix of it come the end of the season.
“We started off under the cosh for a good 15-20 mins but then I realised we needed to change the shape and play how we have been playing, and then we got ourselves back into it and got more possession of the ball.
“Lye could easily have taken the lead but luckily for us the shot went over, also Shaquanna had a great run though but being unselfish tried to play it across to a teammate but got cleared away. But it shows we are working as a team. Then came a screamer of a shot from Leigh Taylor to put us in front and take us into half time 1-0 up.
“2nd half was again a battle, which we expected nothing less from Lye. With chances at each end we knew the next goal was vital, but unfortunately we gave a penalty for an accidental handball, which Lye converted from the spot. Then Lye went through on goal only for our Keeper Kat to pull out a great save, possibly save of the season, in terms for what it meant, so far in the games we've had.
“With lye going down to 10 players after a red card, we had a chance which was a scramble in the box but unfortunately for us Lye cleared it away.
“This was by far the biggest test we've had this season, but so proud of our team the way we held together as a team.
“Players of the match today go to, Kelly Shirley and Kat fryzer.
“Thank you to those who came to support the ladies today, the support means a lot to me Harvey and the team.
“We now look forward to the Birmingham County Vase away at Walsall ladies 1st team at Bescot stadium on Friday 18th October 7.30pm kick off. Please look on the media pages for links for the game as tickets can be purchased online through Walsall FC and also there is chance to pay on the gate.
“Once again, thanks everyone.”
